Chapter 1: Unnatural Murder It was two weeks after the start of summer, and the weather was very hot in the middle of June. The temperature reached a sweltering 105 degrees Fahrenheit, and because of the humidity it felt unbearable at times. However, there was still an hour left before school ended, so Izumi Hachimana didn't have any time to complain about the weather. This was because, at that time, she had to take her AP Statistics class' final exam. The entire student body of the Hachimana High School was eagerly awaiting their results. The final exam was different from the ones they had taken during the first two weeks of classes. For this test, students had to make three different graphs about themselves using their own information. They couldn't use any information given by any teacher. Since Hachimana High provided all the data for the test, no one there would help them with this matter at all. Right now, however, Izumi was in a laboratory at the old Hachimana Hospital. She was looking at a large table in front of her. This table had an intricate design resembling a star, and covered with sheets of the world's most expensive cloth. The cloth was colored deep red. It was made from top-quality silk called "Oriental Machine Silk," and it cost about $1,500 per yard in America or $2,000 per yard in Japan. The cloth for the table was actually 11 meters long and 85 centimeters wide. cfa1e77820
